BOUNTY KILLER CELEBRATES 50th BIRTHDAY

BOUNTY CELEBRATES 50th IN FINE STYLE

June 12, 2022

Veteran dancehall entertainer Bounty Killer has been a major force in the music industry for over three decades. With an impressive music catalogue, his influence and philanthropic work have kept him relevant and respected throughout his career. Born Rodney Pryce, the “Warlord” is a musical legend with the ability to coin various slangs and catchphrases that resonate with the public. Being a Digicel “Brand Ambassador” exemplifies clout and respect from a corporate entity and it was only fitting for the telecommunication giant to honor their client.

It was a star-studded showing at the downtown Kingston headquarters of Digicel, as members of the dancehall fraternity poured into the car park for the “Made in JamRoc” stage show in celebration of Bounty Killer’s 50th birthday.

The event attracted veteran hit makers and many acts from the younger generation. However, the thousands of patrons who attended were only allowed glimpses of their performances due to the abundance of artists and early evening rain. Icons Shaggy, Spice, Tanya Stephens, and birthday boy Bounty Killer got their segments of the show, with many of the other performances lasting a couple minutes each. Veteran acts Voicemail, Chi Ching Ching, Pamputtae, Nesbeth, and Dexter Daps did individual performances before a litany of artistes shared the mic in a grand finale that included Ghost, General B, Harry Toddler, and Konshens.

Shaggy, Spice, Bounty Killer, Pamputtae, Dexter Daps, Laa Lee, and Teejay were crowd favorites based on the reaction during their performances. It was somewhat difficult for the artistes to properly work the crowd due to the short time allowed on stage. Nonetheless, a beautiful fun filled event. Happy Birthday General…….
