Bounty & Shaggy Foundations
October 10, 2024
Dancehall sensation Bounty Killer has made an earnest call to members of the music industry to band together and help fellow artist Lt. Stitchie. His heartfelt plea came as he, along with Shaggy and his charitable organization, The Bounty Foundation, donated US $10,000 to aid Dancehall gospel legend Lt. Stitchie in his recovery after suffering a brain hemorrhage. Cleveland Laing, professionally known as Lieutenant Stitchie, has been challenged with health issues for the past few years and has continued to work despite his declining health. The singer is known for hits like “Wear Yuh Size” and “Natty Dread”, has faced significant health challenges, and while his condition has improved, long-term care is essential for his full recovery. Bounty Killer took to social media and highlighted a concern that the music industry often fails to unite in times of personal crises, despite the financial resources many artists possess. He urged fellow musicians to form a “chain link” of support, calling for more collective responsibility toward one another, especially in moments of need.

The event was organized by Bounty’s manager, Paul ‘Bankey’ Giscombe, and included participation from Richie Stephens and Lt. Stitchie’s wife, Sophia Laing, who provided an update on her husband’s encouraging progress. She expressed her appreciation for the donation and revealed that there is hope for Stitchie as his condition has improved.
Stitchie is hailed as a lyrical powerhouse and is known for his quick-witted and precocious toasting style. His hit songs include Shopping, Broad Hips, and Night & Day, amongst many other Dancehall and Gospel songs. A Go-Fund-Me account has been established to target $100,000 US to help cover his treatment costs.
